Wattage Graph Here watts against input signal level is displayed. The red plot is what will hold most users' interest, as it displays the power output of the output stage. A useful test is to plot maximum potential output wattage against the number of triode pairs, as this test reveals how many triode pairs are needed to optimally match a particular load impedance. The yellow plot displays the class-A operation boundary, below which the amplifier is operating class-A mode. |
I & V Graph Here output current and voltage against load resistance is displayed. Just as we would expect, the higher the load impedance, the greater the potential voltage swing, but the lower the potential current swing. |
Selecting a Plot In the above graph, it is hard to make out what the yellow plot line's values are, as the plot is so flat. The solution is easy enough: either hover the mouse cursor over the plot to read its Y and X values at the bottom of the program or press down the "Marks button at the bottom left of the graph to see value markers or click on the plot line to have the graph zoom to the plot or use the zoom tool (the magnifying glass with a plus sign in it); of course, all four can be used at once. |
