I use HF electrolytic capacitors bypassed by a film capacitor. Still, if a scope is hooked up to the cathode-capacitor connection and squarewave signal is applied at the grid, a distorted signal appears on the connection. Halving the cathode resistor value and then connecting the cathode follower's load resistor to the top of the cathode resistor will feed an anti-phase current though the cathode resistor, which will eliminate the signal at this connection.
Subject: C3M, E 130 L I was printing all your magazines and now I am learning it. I nave built a 3 channel transistor amplifier with an active Butterworth 3 channel crossover (Butterworth - state variable, 12 dB). Several months ago I visited a friend, who had built several tube amplifiers - push pull with EL 34s, single ended amplifiers with a EL509 and a 300B. While I was listening to them and I said that I would build a vacuum tube amplifier. I would like to build a three channel push pull (or single-ended for tweeter) amplifier with an active crossover. But I would like to build a very good one. That is why I am studying your magazine very carefully. I would like to get your answer on 2 questions: 1. I have 18 pcs new tubes C3M. I found them in an old catalogue. Do you think, that I could somewhere find characteristics of this tube. Is it worth to use this tube in headphone amplifier (as triode connected) or in cathode follower? 2. I have 12 E130Ls. But I cannot find anything about this tube. Do you think I could use it instead of EL 34? We have in Czech Republic our high end magazine, some of which is in an English too - see www.gmx.cz.

data sheets for the 18048/C3M and the E130L. Special thanks must go to reader Edwin for the PDF file format.
Subject: Printing Articles I recently discovered Tube Cad Journal. It is very good from what I looked at so far. I have a question. Is there a way to print an entire article is one step, instead of printing individual screen pages one at a time? This is very time consuming in my situation. Do you have Acrobat files available? Please let me know. I would appreciate it. Raymond
I will look in to making PDF's of this journal. Alternatively, maybe a redundant page whose length would be long enough to hold all the pages of the journal so all the pages could be printed with one button click. In the meantime here is some recommendations for users of MS Explorer: 1. Under "View" on the menu bar, you will find "Text Size." Set the size to medium. (A good idea anyway, if the page looks garbled on your screen.) 2. Under "file" you will find "Page Setup." Set the margins to as low as your printer will allow. And clear all the entries for headers and footers.
